Arvid RoxbergArvid was born in Aug 12th 1888 at Schoolcraft, Houghton, Michigan. his parents were Ernst Roxberg (Westman) and Clara Swanson. He married Jenny Kristina Fryklind , daughter of Petter Johannesson Fryklind and Lovisa Andersdotter, on August 31st,1912 at Oaklawn Township, Crow Wing, Minnesota. They moved to Northern California. Arvid died in April 1973 in Vallejo, California, at the age of 84. Arvid came from a big family with 12 Brothers and sisters. Three, Alma, Emil, and Emma all died at childbirth or within a year.

Ernst Gustaf Roxberg (Westman)

Ernst RoxbergErnst, born March 14 1846 at Linköping, Östergötland, Sweden was the ilegitimate son of Gustaf Westman and Sarah Trybom.Ernst emigrated in 1868 from Motala to Hancock, Michigan and appeared on the census of 1870 in the household of John Roxberg and Sara Charlotte Trybom at Schoolcraft, Houghton, Michigan. He married Clara Ulrica Swanson, daughter of Claus August Swanson and Anna Ulrica Kinman, on August 21 1871 at Torch Lake, Houghton, Michigan. When Sarah married John Roxberg, Ernst took the last name of Roxberg. He had 2 sisters Alfrida and Hulda as well as 2 half brothers Oscar and Albert. Ernst Roxberg died in Feb of 1937 at the home of his daughter Emily in Brainerd, Crow Wing, Minnesota, at age 90. He was buried on 9 Feb 1937 at Evergreen Cemetery, Brainerd, Crow Wing, Minnesota. Clara Ulrica Roxberg (Swanson)

ClaraClara Ulrica Swanson, was born on July 12th 1855 at Motala, Östergötland, Sweden. , She married Ernst Gustaf Roxberg, son of Gustaf Constans Westman and Sara Charlotte Trybom, on august 21st 1871 at Torch Lake, Houghton, Michigan.She was also known as Clara Ulrika Svenson and immigrated on May 14th 1871. She and Ernst Gustaf Roxberg appeared on the census of 1880 at Oakland, Burt, Nebraska. She and Ernst Gustaf Roxberg appeared on the Nebraska State census of 1885 at Wakefield, Dixon, Nebraska. She died from typhoid fever on July 9th 1897 at Morrison, Minnesota, at age 41. According to the cemetery records, she was buried on 9 Feb 1937 at Evergreen Cemetery, Brainerd, Crow Wing, Minnesota, at the time of her husband's death. GustafGustaf Petter Johannesson Fryklind , was born on June 14th 1850, son of Johannes Fryklind and Sinta Pettersdotte,in Bjurtjärn, Värmland, Sweden. . He died on 14 Jun 1941 at Kristinehamn, Värmland, Sweden, at age 91.

Lovisa Andersdotter was born on November 28th 1849 at Degersnäs, Karlskoga, Värmland, Sweden. She married Petter Johannesson Fryklind on May 4th 1873 at Degersnäs, Karlskoga, Värmland, Sweden. She died on August 10th 1910 at Storfors, Kroppa, Värmland, Sweden, at age 60. Her parents were Anders Magnusson and Sinta Pettersdotter. She was also known as Lovisa Magnusson.

Gustaf Westman and Sarah Trybom

GustafGustaf Constans Westman, was born on 24 Apr 1817 at Mariestad, Skaraborg,Sweden, son of Sven Westman and Hevig Gunther. He married Caroline Augusta Wilhelmina Lindberg on Janurary 26th 1856 at Dalarö, Stockholm, Sweden. Gustaf Constans Westman was a military man. On at least one occasion he fought for Denmark against the Germans. He had been offered an officer's commission in 1848, if he wanted to stay a time in Köpenhamn and drill recruits, but he longed to come out of the field and offered to serve as a private if he got to go with next transport.He lived with Sara Charlotte Trybom for several years. Although not indicated in the birth records, it is likely that Gustaf Constans Westman fathered Sara Charlotta's first three children including Ernst Roxberg.He died on 24 Apr 1894 at age 77.

Sara Charlotte Trybom was born on April 22nd 1822 at Hannäs, Kalmar, Sweden.She lived with Gustaf Constans Westman for several years and it appears very likely he was the father of her first three children Erenst, Alfrida, and Hulda. She and John Roxberg were married in 1854 at Östergötland, Sweden. Sarah emigrated from Östergötland in 1869 to Houghton, Michigan. She and John Roxberg appeared lived in Bell Creek, Burt, Nebraska and had two sons, Albert and Oscar. She later lived with her sons Ernst in Wakefield, Dixon, Nebraska and Oscar in Motley, Morrison, Minnesota. She died on 4 Jan 1906 at McPherson, Kansas, at age 83. She was buried at Freemont Church, McPherson, Kansas.

He married Anna Ulrica Kinman , daughter of Johan Kinman and Helena Kindvall, on 22 Oct 1854 in Motala, Östergötland, Sweden. , He died on 11 Oct 1904 in Oakland, Burt, Nebraska, at age 75. He was buried on 14 Oct 1904 in Oakland, Burt, Nebraska.

PROMINENT OLD SETTLER DIES After a long illness with Bright's disease, C. A. Swanson died at his home in this city, Tuesday. He came to Oakland from Michigan about 17 years ago and lived on a farm southeast of here until some years ago when he retired and come to this city to live. He was born in Motala, Sweden, November 10, 1829. He followed the trade of machinist in which he had a high reputation, having been employed by some of the largest shops of Stockholm on very responsible jobs. He married Anna Chinman fifty years ago. Eight children were born to them, only one of whom is living, a daughter, Mrs. C Fridstrom, of Brainerd, Minn. The widow, eighteen grandchildren, and one sister in Sweden survive him. The funeral takes place today from the residence and Baptist Church, Rev. M. Larson officiating. Lorena (Fryklind) Kristofferson said he had red hair and that was where Emily (Roxberg) Fryklind got her red hair. He was a machinist. He was also known as Claes Svensson. He immigrated on 16 Aug 1872. , He and Anna Ulrica Kinman appeared on the census of 1880 in Schoolcraft, Houghton, Michigan. He and Anna Ulrica Kinman appeared on the census of 1900 in Oakland, Burt, Nebraska. Claus August Swanson's cause of death was Chronic Intestinal Nephritis.

The following is her obituary from the March 1, 1912 Oakland Independent and Republican. Mrs. Anna Ulrika Swenson, nee Kinnan, died in this city on Wednesday, this week, aged eighty-four years. The decedent came to Oakland with her husband in 1883, locating on a farm three miles south of town, where they lived for seven years, coming to this city to make their home when they left the farm. Her husband died here a number of years ago. Anna Ulrika Kinnman was born in Motala, Sweden, December 29, 1827. She married Claus August Swenson, a native of Stockholm, Sweden and a mechanic by trade, October 22, 1854. She was the mother of eight children, of whom only one, a daughter, Mrs. Frank G. Fridstrom, of Brainerd, Minn., is living. Twenty grandchildren also remain to mourn her passing. Mrs. Swenson was not a member of any church, but affiliated with the Baptist people in their services and gave freely to the church finances and charity. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at her late home and at the Baptist church, Rev. L. Arlander having them in charge. The services at the church will commence at two o'clock.

Stina Pettersdotter was born on September 6th 1817 at Bjurtjärn, Värmland, Sweden. She married Johannes Olsson Fryklind , son of Olaf Andersson Fryklind and Stina Mattsdotter, on 22 Mar 1845 at Bjurtjärn, Värmland, Sweden. She died on 18 Dec 1857 at Varnum, Värmland, Sweden, at age 40.
